A year after Apple launched the iPad to the world, it now introduces us to the brand new iPad 2. The new iPad represents a major leap in technology from its predecessor with its fast dual-core A5 chip, two cameras for FaceTime and HD video recording and a three-axis gyro, all wrapped up in a thinner, lighter design.

While the new iPad does have such impressive improvements from the original, many people are frustrated that it has taken Apple two releases to fit the tablet out with the dated technology that they easily could have incorporated into the first model.

But Apple can do no wrong with last year's sales of the iPad reaching nearly 15 million units in an increasingly competitive market where they hold around 90% of the share. And this year they hope will be the year of the iPad 2 as they aim to encourage more people to consider buying their new tablet to compliment their growing hoard of, at times, seemingly redundant household gadgets.

The Apple iPad 2 will be released on March 11 and will retail from $499.

The 2012 London Olympics is only a year away now and it is at this time that the world is starting to pay more attention to the logo that will define the games. This bright-coloured creation was the brainchild of international brand consultancy agency, Wolff Olins, and was produced at a cost of £400,000, which since it was unveiled in 2007 has been the subject of much debate and controversy.
An early poll by the BBC website saw more than 80% of the voters give the logo the lowest possible rating and led many people to submit their own designs as an alternative. The logo has also been criticized for appearing to be everything from looking like a pornographic representation of the cartoon character Lisa Simpson, to two people making love, to a distorted Swastika, and to more recently as alleged by Iran officials, a hidden Zion message that has prompted them to threaten to boycott the games unless it is changed.

Wolff Olins claims that their logo is "...unconventionally bold, deliberately spirited and unexpectedly dissonant, echoing London’s qualities of a modern, edgy city. Containing neither sporting images nor pictures of London landmarks, the emblem shows that the Games is more than London, more than sport."

Although I do struggle to see these alleged hidden images, I can't help but wonder whether the £400,000 could have been better spent on a logo that better garnered the support of the people that it represents.

No question about it this week! Wayne Rooney's simply stunning bicycle kick in the Manchester Derby is the winner. This may even go on to be voted Goal of the Year! What do you think?

Each week it is always difficult to choose the best goal! With lots of things to weigh up like technicality, timing, scoreline, difficulty and awesomeness.

This week I had it down to 2 goals - Cheik Tiote and Niko Kranjcar - Both goals were scored when their team needed it and both goals had a certain quality about them. However (despite being a Spurs fan and despite Kranjcar scored using his opposite foot) I have to give it to Tiote due to the pure difficulty of hitting the kind of ball he did, and to clear everyone in his way and beat the keeper low to his right is incredible! The fact that it brought the score to 4-4 was icing on the cake.

In case you have already seen the above goal on the Match of the Week Post, I have also included the link for Kranjcar stoppage time stunner here: Niko Kranjcar - Tottenham Hotspur

Plenty of games this weekend could have received this honour, with over 40 goals scored in the Premier League, however it is Newcastle's stunning comeback from 4-0 down at half time that takes the cake. In this game we see everything from terrible defending to a contender for the Goal of the Week crown, plus we see a red card, a couple of penalties but the best thing....Arsenal being pegged back after being in such a demanding position. The Gunners have done that twice this season, the other being at the Emirates against the Spurs where they gave up a 2-0 half time lead to eventually go down 3-2.
