Polaroid and Lady Gaga have teamed up to release a new line of Products; the Grey Label. I cant say I care for Lady Gaga or the stupid looking camera glasses they have designed. The only one that interests me is the GL30 which is a tribute to the original Polaroid cameras, which we’re amazing in their day and I still really want one. I can still remember playing with them as a kid, shaking those little pictures to make them magically appear. The only downside to these old cameras now is that the film is quite expensive costing around $1.50 per picture. The new GL30 combines Polaroids new ZINK technology and a very retro digital camera to produce 3 x 4 inch instant photos. The price for the camera or the film has not been released yet but when it comes out I will definitely be getting one and jumping around my bed while some girl models for me like Austin Powers in the awesome scene with Elizabeth Hurley. One to watch out for..... pretty much for that reason.Picture courtesy of Polaroid

Olympus invented the rugged camera many years ago and have since been up there with the best in the category. They have now released the new line up of Tough cameras for 2011 the TG-310 and the TG-610.
The new Tough cameras are Waterproof (to 16 feet for the TG-610 and 10 feet for the TG-310), Shockproof (to 5 feet) and Freezeproof (to 14 degrees Fahrenheit) to deliver amazing images even when you take them to extremes. There is also an optional underwater housing for the TG-610 that will allow it go to depths of 131ft. Beyond their durable exteriors, the TG-610 and TG-310 deliver superior image quality thanks to 14 megapixels, high-definition (HD) video, wide-angle optical zoom lenses (5x on the TG-610 and 3.6x on the TG-310) and dual image stabilization. The cameras come in a variety of colors to complement your own individual style. Current estimated pricing is TG-310 $199USD and TG610 $299USD and will be available in February.
Bottom Line: We will have to see the picture quality when they come out, at the moment if your in the market for a rugged go anywhere camera the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 are the best in the category for overall strength and picture quality. The silver version is currently on sale here
for $265USD.

Fujifilm has announced the new FinePix X100 to great interest of professional and enthusiast photographers. Now lets face it, anyone can throw a retro style case on a camera and it will be a commercial success, I would probably buy it. But Fujifilm has gone all out with the FinePix X100 with the intentions to compete with the low to mid range DSLRs but still be a small nimble package that can fit in your pocket. The camera features a 12.3-megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor and an f/2 lens with a fixed focal length of 23mm, equivalent to a 35mm semi-wide angle. Now for the downside, the current expected approx retail price is $1,200USD which is very heavy when you think of what DSLRs are available in that price range, you could get a D90 with a couple of decent lenses for that. But you can't get a Leica for that price and that is really where this camera comes into its own. All those that can't afford the hefty price of a Leica but want a small camera that can take DSLR quality pictures.
Bottom Line: Is it worth the money? Well I will let you know in March when I get my hands on one..... Right after I spend the night in a bar picking up girls by pretending I'm a journo that just got back from some war zone.... I am convinced this will work... Until then, grab a Nikon P7000 instead for around $500 for great picture quality at a very low price (currently on sale here
for $379USD Bargain!).
